Guitar Set-Up Workshop - Electric

Spend a day in historic Bell Buckle, TN inside of Sweet Strings Music and learn the art of the set-up! This class is intended musicians serious about their instruments playability, students that are hobbyist kit builders and everyone in between.  You will get hands on training in an intimate class room setting where you will learn every crucial component of setting up and maintaining your own instruments. No matter your skill level or knowledge of tools or know how, every student will leave with the insight and knowledge to perform a precise set-up. Take the knowledge and tools you'll gain from this class and be able to perform a set-up on any style of electric guitar and or bass. There is a lot of misinformation out there on the internet, this class will teach you the industry standards that are expected from a professional setup. 

Course outline will be: A brief history of the set-up, introduction to tools and measurements, instrument evaluation and documentation, seeing with your hands and ears ( yes that's what I typed), instrument cleaning for various types of finishes, electronics cleaning diagnosis and use of multimeter, fretboard evaluation, neck relief, truss rod adjustments, fretboard conditioning, frets and buzz, saddle radius and action, nut slotting, stringing, the stairway to setup, pickup heights and more!

We offer packages with tuition of professional grade tools by Music Nomad, the same tools we use everyday in our shop for our clients that you may purchase along with your tuition for class.  We have hand selected each tool set so that each student will be able to leave the class and perform a professional grade setup on any of their instruments for years to come. We also wanted to offer different packages to meet anyone’s budget.  Three separate tool packages with cost of tuition are available for you to choose from, to include an option for rental of tools. All of the tools are from Music Nomad, no cheap substitutes like other Workshops.  It is highly recommended to purchase a tool set so you can familiarize yourself with the tools you’ll be using upon completion of the class.
